Harvest

Also known as: chop, harvesting

Cutting down mature cannabis plants at peak ripeness, judged by trichome color, to begin drying and curing.

Harvest is the point at which a grower cuts down the plant to capture peak cannabinoid and terpene expression. The most reliable timing signal is trichome color under magnification — mostly milky with some amber indicates peak potency. Harvesting too early reduces potency and yield; too late shifts THC toward sedative CBN. After harvest, plants are dried slowly and then cured to preserve quality.
