Curing

Also known as: cure

Slowly aging dried cannabis in sealed jars to improve smoothness, flavor, and shelf life over 2–4+ weeks.

Curing is the controlled aging of dried cannabis, typically in sealed glass jars 'burped' (opened briefly) daily for the first weeks. It allows residual moisture to redistribute and chlorophyll to break down, dramatically improving smoothness, flavor, and aroma while preserving cannabinoids and terpenes. A proper 2–4 week (or longer) cure is one of the highest-impact, lowest-cost steps in producing top-shelf flower. Sloppy drying and curing waste good genetics.
