A hermaphrodite (or 'hermie') is a cannabis plant that produces both female flowers and male pollen sacs. This usually happens in response to stress — light leaks during the dark period, heat spikes, severe nutrient problems, or unstable genetics. The danger is self-pollination, which seeds the crop and ruins the smokable flower. Buying stable feminized genetics from a verified breeder and controlling the environment are the best defenses.
