Plant Anatomy
Also known as: calyxes, bract
The teardrop-shaped structures that make up cannabis buds and hold the highest trichome density.
Calyxes (technically bracts) are the small, teardrop-shaped structures that cluster together to form a cannabis bud. They are the most resin-dense part of the flower, covered in trichomes, and house the plant's reproductive parts. Swollen calyxes are a sign of a maturing, well-developed bud. The pistils (hairs) emerge from the calyxes.
